Children Are Able To Adapt To Online Learning Tools

We all know how adaptable our children are in whatever living or learning situation they are in. I expect they are more adaptable than many adults. As the old saying goes, “If you want to program your TV, ask a 13- year old’. Anyway, I am continually amazed at how well children have adapted to technology. They are picking up skills from on-line learning tools as quickly as they learn in traditional classrooms. With the interactive technology available, some students are actually able to stay focused on an assignment longer than in a traditional classroom setting. Naturally, adult supervision is required to help guide the learning. I believe that the resources available on-line for children are especially useful for home-school situations where it would be impossible to have in-depth resources available.

Having online tools are especially valuable for teachers. As a teacher, I am constantly looking for better ways to present current, up-to-date material for my students. I can-t imagine teaching without the incredible resources available through the internet. Not only can I access this information, but with the software and programs available, it is easier than ever to navigate through the huge volume of information that is out there.
