America after the Civil War
Teachers
from
Ballston Spa High School and
Niskayuna
Central Schools collaborated with the Institute staff
to develop an interdisciplinary videoconference project that focuses on
the high school American History curriculum including the impact of
the Civil War on Americans, manufacturing, transportation, expansion,
urbanization and the stratification of American society. The program
Activities offer rich interactive content about the Constitution
Challenges and the Civil War, Reconstruction and post Reconstruction
rise of the Robber Barons.
Because
of the needs of the teachers who worked on the development of this
project, the interactive videoconference was constructed as a series
of 10 – 15 minute interactive videoconference segments that are
delivered on separate days. However, schools with more
traditional curriculum structures and request that the whole program
be delivered in one 45 to 50 minute videoconference.
