Overview:
The scope of this plan covers many of the New York State
ELA standards. While the lessons here can be fused
together into a unit or mini-unit, they can also be revised or
de-contextualized depending on need.
Students will
explore the concept of human nature in ways in which humans
view others' suffering. Poetry, classic and contemporary
art, and Elie Wiesel's Night will be used here
so that students can develop, refine, and express their view
of human nature.
ELA Learning Standards:

speak for literary response and analysis
Standard 3: Students will read, write, listen,
