Students will develop an understanding of the
purpose and functions of a zoo.
Background:
An understanding of basic Gorilla information
derived from the lesson "Gorillas: The Fact, The
Fiction" will help support the learning objective
within this lesson.
Activity Description:
-Brainstorming session on zoos using guided
questions.

“Why do we have Zoos?”
-Discussion based on reading.

-Classroom copies of

Procedure:

Conduct brainstorming activity using guiding
questions.

Write all ideas generated by students on board
or paper.

Generate discussion about the role zoos play.
