Teachers Visit
Sagamore Hill - 04.11.03
The points of VIEW team of teachers
including Stuart Palzak, Doug Kaufman, Lou Schiavone, John
Deguardi, Gary Comley, Jerry Ostrander and Nick Sheldon visited
Sagamore Hill April 11th. The teachers took a tour of Theodore
Roosevelt's summer home in Oyster Bay, Long Island as they begin
development of the project curriculum. The experience provided a
broader vision of how they will best use the resources of C-SPAN
for the project.
The visit included a tour by the
National Park Service guide and a visit with T. Roosevelt
re-enactor, James Foote. The visit also provided teachers with a
better understanding of Roosevelt's personal life, unique points
of interest in his Long Island home, as well as a basis for
planning the project.
The teachers took a special
tour of Theodore Roosevelt's summer home in Oyster Bay Long Island
for project curriculum development. The experience provided
a broader vision of how they will be able to use the resources
that they are focusing on from C-SPAN.

Service guide and local Theodore Roosevelt re-enactor, James
Foote. Mr. Foote is considered possible talent in the
videoconference.
- Teachers were able to get a
better understanding of Roosevelt's personal life including
unique points of interest in his Long Island home. They
can develop a basis for the interactive video component of the
project.
