Post Video-Conference

Students will answer the following concerning their selected photograph:

1.  According to your sources, what are the facts regarding this event?

2.  How accurately does the photograph represent the facts?

3.  Based on the way the photographer rendered the event, what seems to be his or her opinion about it?  Who are the "bad guys" and the "good guys" according to the photographer's view?

4.  How does the photographer use color, lighting, shadows, emphasis, setting, symbols and other visual techniques to communicate his or her feelings about the event?

5.  How does this photographer's techniques compare to Leon Golub's techniques used in his painting?  How does the photographer art compare to other artist's work depicting historical events?

6.  How could you depict this event through a painting?  What colors, symbols, words, etc .... would you use?
