The C-SPAN Bus visited Amsterdam High School and Mont Pleasant Middle School, Scotia Glenville High School and Ballston Spa this week    as part of  the Points of VIEW Education Demonstration.  The project education lesson and  showcase,  which took place over three days, October 27 - 29,  unveiled a new interactive videoconference program | |Press Release| | based on Theodore Roosevelt.

Roosevelt,  played by James Foote, along with students from Mont Pleasant Middle School, and a high school class from Amsterdam High School participated in a four way video-conference program Tuesday afternoon.  Students from their classrooms,  interacted with one another as well as with Roosevelt who sat in the C-SPAN bus.  They participated in an educational question and answer period regarding Roosevelt, his life and presidency.  The students also interacted with educators, community members and the program partners who were located at Time Warner's studio in Schenectady.  The videoconference was also available live on the Web.

Prior to the demonstration project, Roosevelt re-enacted a campaign speech from the balcony of Mont Pleasant to grade seven and grade eight students standing on the front lawn.  Roosevelt  met with students from Amsterdam and Ballston Spa on Monday and Scotia Glenville High School on Wednesday.

Students from all four schools had an opportunity to board the C-SPAN bus to learn about the uses of the bus and the technology involved in broadcasting from the roving vehicle as well as history and political issues including the 2004 campaign.

Points Of  VIEW is an interactive educational  video-conference program formed by Time Warner Cablevision, C-SPAN and project VIEW..
