Project VIEW has been collaborating with three northern
New York Schools and has provided each with desktop
videoconference systems. Members of the Project VIEW
team have traveled to each of the schools and have set
up the systems. The schools include North Warren,
Argyle Central School, and Whitehall Central School.
The three teachers, Bernie McCann (North
Warren), Dave Guyette (Argyle Central School), and Tony
Nassivera (Whitehall Central School) and their students
have been collaboratively developing a newsletter from
three remote locations. Prior to the installation of
the videoconferencing systems, the students from each
school communicated via e-mail. The newsletter was then
designed, created and published by one student at one
location. The videoconferencing capabilities enable the
students to collaborate and create the newsletter at the
same time, making the project more of a collective
effort.
