OBJECTIVES:

will use the Internet to learn about the Blue Crab.

will be able to identify the difference between a male and
female Blue Crab.

will be able to identify the Blue Crab’s predators and prey
-
Students
will be able to describe the Blue Crab’s life cycle including
its feeding habits.
BACKGROUND:
This
lesson should be completed prior to the Blue Crab Lab.

will give students an opportunity to learn more about the Blue Crab
before actually seeing it.
DESCRIPTION:
This is Internet activity that will allow children to explore
information regarding the Blue Crab.
The Web site contains many links to more information
regarding Blue Crabs and the Chesapeake Bay.

to scale based on the measurements given on the Web site.
SS: Locate the
Chesapeake Bay on a map and compare it to where your students live.
