The June issue of Time Warner Cable’s education newsletter, TWC’s Education Connection, is featuring unique Cable in the Classroom educational resources for teachers, parents and students. Quality Children's Media

Indecency and inappropriate content on television have been headline staples since the Super Bowl. That's why the focus of this month's Access Learning is on quality children's media -- what to look for and where to find it. Looking for a Few Good Men and Women

Cable in the Classroom is looking for a few excellent, media- and technology-savvy educators to work with us as advisors, mentors, and project consultants. CIC wants your insight about trends and issues in education and technology as well as your ideas for using technology effectively in the classroom. Submissions for Expert Advice & Reflections on Teaching

Teachers are always interested in hearing what their colleagues are doing.  Whether it’s something that worked great in a classroom or a fundamental belief about teaching, educators want to know about it.  So here’s your chance to share your thoughts and experiences for the benefit of your fellow educators.

 

Send Cable in the Classroom an informal narrative of 500 words or less on either of the topics below.  This isn’t a research article, so speak conversationally, in your own voice, as if you were talking to a colleague.  Place your thoughts directly into the body of the message form that opens when you click on “submit here.”

Time Warner Cable Supports School Programs at The Hyde Collection

Time Warner Cable is proud to sponsor Hyde School Programs for the second consecutive year, supporting arts education for students of all ages in twenty regional school districts.  The Hyde Collection, a fine arts museum located in Glens Falls, offers guided tours throughout the school year FREE of charge. The expansive permanent collection and regularly changing special exhibitions provide the foundation for School Programs that link art and art history with social studies, language arts, math, and science.

 

The Museum’s education department collaborates with classroom teachers and curriculum coordinators to develop object-based programming that satisfies New York State learning standards and prepares students for features of their standardized achievement tests.  Over twenty options are offered, each designed to meet the needs of the student and teacher—reflecting the curriculum in both grade level and subject matter.  Tours can be customized to specific classroom needs.
