Videoconferencing

Communication is direct and immediate Unlike other media, such as television, movies, books, magazines, and newspapers, a videoconference provides direct, interactive links between the presenter and the participants; and among the presenter, the participants, and documents instantaneously.

Communication flows in all directions, regardless of hierarchies and context
In a videoconference, here is no true hierarchy of communication. Context becomes the relationship or association of presenter, participants, and presentation of information from various places.  Participation and information flows in and out from multiple sources.

Communication and participation are an active part of the process

Once a participant has gained access to the videoconference, he becomes an active part of the process.  An effective videoconference provides participants with information and also requires them to become actively engaged in gathering information or sharing creative expressions for conference communication.

Communication is multi-layered and multi-dimensional
A videoconference allows for a rich layering of interactive communication, textual interchange, graphic illustration and video presentation.  In addition, it opens the possibility of multi-site interaction and presentation.
