Objective:  Students will understand the significance of logos and symbols, as well as how they are created.

Background:  Before students create their team patch, have them bring in examples of common corporate logos and symbols.  Students should be able to explain what makes these logos effective.

Activity:  In small groups, students will discuss the design and significance of their team patch.  Once students creat their team patch, they should prepare and oral presentation in which they argue for their particular design.  They should be prepared to explain why their design is effective, and what it says about their particular team and/or mission.

Assessment:  Have the students designed a team patch?

Did they work successfully in groups?

Have they successfully presented their patch and explained its significance?
